By using a research-based assessment, developed by Dr. Reuven Bar On in 1997, you will learn how to manage yourself and your relationship with others. Dr. Bar On created this instrument to answer the question, “Why do some people with high IQ’s fail in life, while others with moderate IQ’s succeed?” This assessment, the EQ-i is the first validated instrument to measure social and mental functioning.
This assessment provides feedback on five scales:
- Intrapersonal – Emotional self awareness and ability to assert one’s self
- Interpersonal – Ability to establish relationships and demonstrate empathy with other
- Adaptability – Ability to problem solve and remain flexible to change
- Stress Management – Ability to withstand stress and resist impulse
- General Mood – Self satisfaction and optimism in life
EQ-i is a great tool for people at any level of the organization, particularly those who serve in a leadership role, coach others or work with others to produce results.
The EQ-i is completed online and followed up with a 1-hour coaching and debrief call. Together we will identify specific action steps to help you enhance your EQ. Unlike IQ, this can change over time. It’s through your awareness and desire to enhance your results where you will see increased success.
EQ-i and Teams
If you have a team and are interested in using this assessment to capture your organization’s EQ-i, we can create a team session just for you. This would include individual debriefs and coaching along with a ½ day team session to look at your team’s EQ-i results and what is needed to move in the direction of even greater success. Individual results are kept confidential, and averages of scores are used to generate a Team EQ-i.
